About New Vine
“Walking Together to Participate in God’s Good Work”
The story of New Vine is a story of God’s transformative grace and intergenerational fellowship.
New Vine is the English Ministry of Korean Community Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, which has gathered in Atlanta ever since 1977. Our ministry was rebranded as “New Vine” in 2021 when Pastor Peter Moon began to shepherd our flock.
We are an intergenerational home where people of all ages gather together to worship. Our English ministry intertwines with the Korean ministry, seeking to embody God’s all-encompassing family.
God has renewed our identity as His masterpiece. We grow together in community, participating in God’s Good Work. We strive to bless others with grace, love, and justice.
Peter Moon
Lead Pastor
Born in South Korea and raised in Chicago, pastor Hoyoung Peter Moon is a diehard Chicago sports fan. After attending the University of Illinois for undergraduate studies, he worked in IT before completing the Master of Divinity at Northern Seminary. Peter is married to Eunae Faith Moon, and they have three children Grace, Isaiah, and Josiah. His family served as missionaries in Cambodia for five years and served in Los Angeles before moving to Atlanta in 2021. His passion is to see the gospel renew the church and the lives of its people. His vision is to see Korean American Church progress from being an “immigrant” church to being a “diaspora” church that exists to bear witness to Christ and blesses the cities we live in. He enjoys anything and everything related to food and coffee. He looks forward to sharing a meal with you!
Luke Durain
College Pastor
After growing up in Texas and pursuing education in Los Angeles, Luke and his wife Erin have enjoyed making Atlanta their new home, since 2020. Luke completed his undergraduate studies at Biola University and completed his Master of Theology and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at Fuller Seminary. Responding to God’s calling over his life to help guide others into a deeper relationship with God, Luke spent previous years as a youth pastor and currently serves as a college pastor. Luke is passionate about helping others grasp the Good News of the Gospel so that they may embrace God’s purpose for their life. Drawing from professional experience as a counselor, Luke seeks to show Jesus’ compassion and hope to those who are navigating the burdens of life. Luke enjoys playing with dogs, reading books by Pastor Tim Keller, tasting new ice cream flavors, bonding with friends through games, and discussing Korean Dramas with his wife.
